Seaman Homestead

From the Cairn (Monument), located at the Amos Thomas Seaman House, the site of Amos Peck Seaman’s “Homestead” is visible as a mere cluster of trees where the once great mansion stood. The house was built back in the late 1830’s. (1837) Due to long disputes over the Seaman will, the house and Minudie Estate fell into disrepair. A fire eventually destroyed what remained of the house, and all that we can see today is the remains of the foundation of the once great mansion.
